Julie Richardson Procter, who served as President of the Junior League of Beaumont,
lost a courageous battle to ovarian cancer in April 2011. A scholarship endowment
has been established in her memory for the benefit of young women in our area.
Julie gave unselfishly of her time and talents during her lifetime for the betterment
of others. She was an active volunteer in the Junior League as well as many other
civic related organizations. While she was an accomplished attorney, Julie balanced
her career with her devotion to volunteering. No volunteer job was too hard to
tackle, and her optimistic attitude and dedication inspired others to enlist in worthy
The Julie Richardson Procter Scholarship will be awarded to outstanding women
who epitomize the spirit of volunteerism and giving back to our community.
Applicants may apply for Undergraduate or Graduate Degree Scholarship.
Must maintain a 3.0 GPA to remain a candidate for scholarship.
Must demonstrate dedication to volunteerism, through reported time and results.
Scholarship recipients will be:
Eligible for $1,000.00 towards college tuition and board.
Eligible for $1,000.00 for three more years provided the GPA requirement is
maintained and volunteerism remains evident while earning their degree.
The number of recipients or the amount of the awards may vary depending on the
funds available each year.
