Corps of Volunteers (COV)

The Mission:
The mission of Corps of Volunteers is to provide volunteer support for a series of concentrated projects that support the Junior League of Beaumont’s on-going projects that meet critical needs in our community. These projects will be consistent with the mission of the Junior League and also serve as a way for the Junior League to be more visible in the community. The Corps of Volunteers Project provides flexibility in scheduling and allows our members to volunteer in areas they are passionate about.

The Vision:
The Corps of Volunteers project will focus on projects that further the JLB’s mission. COV will provide the JLB an opportunity to serve multiple community agencies that do not have a need for League volunteers on an ongoing basis. COV will provide trained volunteers who assist and facilitate the success of agencies’ ongoing projects which are multiple hands-on one-day or short-term projects that are rewarding and diverse in nature. COV committee members will take turns leading each project so that the projects are successful and everyone on the committee develops leadership skills and shares the responsibility for making the project successful. This project could also be used to help develop projects that could possibly turn into stand-alone projects in future years.

The members in the COV placement will help provide volunteers to our signature project, The Beaumont Children’s Museum, and assist the Texas Gulf Coast & Louisiana Make-A-Wish Foundation with helping grant wishes for children meeting the set for criteria.
