Community Goal:

Committees responsible - Community Council

To provide opportunities for families to empower themselves for a better quality of life

  • Sunshine Cove Goals
    • 80% attendance to programs
    • Provide 2 events that are focused on just the women
  • Beaumont Children’s Museum
    • Define League involvement
    • Provide community support
    • Provide volunteers to museum without walls exhibits
  • Family Resource Center Summer Camp
    • Provide safe environment for children to have fun, learn new things, and to learn the value of literacy
    • To be in the position to leave the center supplies to continue projects or develop many of their own.
  • Family Resource Center Nights
    • Attendance Goal this year is 20-30 per event
    • Partner with the director in programming and organizing of events in preparation for future hand off.

Membership Goals:

Committees responsible – Education and Training Chair & Board of Directors

To provide opportunities and training for our members to achieve personal growth and development to become better volunteers in our community

  • Chair Training
    • Provide chairman with information to better understand their role and responsibilities and will follow up routinely
    • Council Director will maintain open lines of communication with chairman to support and aid in trouble shooting.
  • Board Training
    • Training specifically on bylaws and policies and procedures
    • Training on the strategic planning and implementation process
  • Speakers
    • Provide speakers that are relevant, timely, and whose purpose is to the betterment of women
  • Leadership Opportunities
    • Equip, prepare and provide nomination and placement with information about members to better place members where they are needed and wish to be
    • Provide multiple opportunities to return interest indicators
  • Skill Development
    • Focus on the education and training opportunities of membership to be consistent throughout the year and relevant

Finance Goals:

Committees responsible – Committee Chairman & Board of Directors

To effectively use the council system to plan and implement a financial base that will position our organization with financial security for the future

  • Fundraising
    • Meet or exceed budgetary goals by working with finance council throughout the year
    • Work consistently to keep all committees budget conscious
  • Dues
    • Bylaws timelines will be honored consistently

Communication Goals:

Committees responsible – Communication, Community, Membership, Finance & Board of Directors

To continually educate and inform our members and our community of our vision and goals for families in Beaumont

  • Media Involvement
    • Send press releases on every major community event
    • Have representative from media at all major community events when possible
    • Have a prescence at the Press Club of SETX and report back to board
  • Merchandise
    • Quality products that promote the league
  • Community Advisory Board
    • Utilize Advisory board prior to project selection and meet again with them at end of year
  • Spinnings
    • Consolidation of publications to one
  • Fundraisers
    • Schedule media appearances to education about focus areas! Include a major project focus at each fundraiser.

Planning Goals:

Committee Responsible – Membership, Planning & Board of Directors

To assess the current status of the various facets of our organization and plan for its future

  • Evaluations
    • All committee evaluation to go to PE not current President
  • Project Research and Development
    • Time has come to evaluate aging projects and what their replacements will be
  • Future Planning
    • Evaluate transition of leadership in all areas
    • Evaluate nominating and placement process
    • Look to having placement fully computerized in the near future

The JLB will contribute additional funds in the community through the Community Assistance Fund.
